Five chefs compete, each cooking a whole hog. One of the main purposes of the event is to raise awareness of heritage pork. Thomas of the Eat Local Memphis blog has a fantastic interview with Brady Lowe, creator of the Cochon555 concept, and some of the local chefs. <a href=\"http:\/\/www.eatlocalmemphis.org\/2012\/01\/30\/cochon555-words-from-people-that-know-pig-interview-with-kelly-english-michael-hudman-andy-ticer-and-brady-lowe\/\">Read it here.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Karen Waldrup and Ashlee K. Thomas play the Brass Door again tonight at 7. There is no cover charge, but tips are appreciated. You can register to win a guitar signed by the two musicians.<\/p>\n<p>Don&#8217;t forget that the Blind Bear has a $4 sausage and cheese plate tonight from 6 to 9. I haven&#8217;t had that plate myself yet, but I&#8217;ve seen others order it and even at its regular price of $6 it&#8217;s a heck of a value. They&#8217;ll have half price bottles of wine from 6 to 9 too.<\/p>\n<p>That&#8217;s all the news for now. Time for Pint Nite, then poker.
