{"id":1218,"date":"2007-09-06T17:45:00","date_gmt":"2007-09-06T17:45:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.paulryburn.com\/wordpress\/?p=1218"},"modified":"2007-09-06T17:45:00","modified_gmt":"2007-09-06T17:45:00","slug":"raifords-update","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.paulryburn.com\/blog\/2007\/09\/06\/raifords-update\/","title":{"rendered":"Raiford&#8217;s update"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>This morning I linked to <a href=\"http:\/\/www.angiedawn.net\/blog\/\">AngieDawn&#8217;s blog<\/a> where she posted about activities in the old Raiford&#8217;s building &#8211; the lights are back on and someone has applied for a liquor license.<\/p>\n<p>The guy who sells the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.cafepress.com\/38103\">38103<\/a> zip code shirts just e-mailed me with more details:  It&#8217;s a group of 5 to 7 investors who are re-opening the place.  They intend to keep it as it was before, and they&#8217;ll hire Raiford back to DJ on the weekends.  Seems that Raiford still wants to work, he just doesn&#8217;t want to deal with all the hassles of owning a business anymore.<\/p>\n<p>WOOHOO!!!  Thrilled to hear that the club will make a comeback in a form that at least somewhat resembles old Raiford&#8217;s.  You guys better keep selling 40s!  I&#8217;ve been so worried that greedy condo developers would buy the lot and tear down the building to make room for new development.
