Sad news to report this morning. Elliott’s, the burger joint open for lunch and breakfast on S. Second Street, will close on November 22<\/a>. Although best known for its burgers, I was an even bigger fan of Elliott’s breakfast sandwiches and burritos. The MBJ reports that layoffs at nearby Downtown businesses (including me, five years ago) have slowed the breakfast and lunch crowd, and as a result the restaurant is unable to pay the usage fee to comply with the new Downtown dumpster ordinance.\u00a0If you’re not familiar with the Downtown dumpster ordinance,\u00a0 this article has an explanation<\/a>.<\/p>\n

BB King’s club on Beale Street is back open today. It has been closed since early October due to a fire. They will have hot food, with the Will Tucker Band performing at 5 and BB King’s All-Stars at 9.<\/p>\n
