{"id":1496,"date":"2008-01-15T09:03:40","date_gmt":"2008-01-15T15:03:40","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.paulryburn.com\/blog\/?p=1496"},"modified":"2008-01-15T09:03:40","modified_gmt":"2008-01-15T15:03:40","slug":"memphian-to-appear-on-wheel-of-fortune-tonight","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.paulryburn.com\/blog\/2008\/01\/15\/memphian-to-appear-on-wheel-of-fortune-tonight\/","title":{"rendered":"Memphian to appear on Wheel of Fortune tonight"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Be sure to tune in and watch Wheel of Fortune tonight, as Memphis&#8217; very own <strong>The Nuh-Uh Sister<\/strong> will be spinning the wheel for cash and prizes.\u00a0 There wasn&#8217;t enough room on the name tag for &#8220;The Nuh-Uh Sister,&#8221; so she used her real name, Aimee, instead.\u00a0 The entire Nuh-Uh Family flew out to L.A. last month for the taping.<\/p>\n<p>We&#8217;re planning a watch party at the Saucer immediately prior to trivia.\u00a0 Probably the first time in the bar&#8217;s 11-year run that Wheel of Fortune has appeared on a TV there.\u00a0 It&#8217;s going to be extremely busy Downtown tonight, with a Grizzlies game and some musical at the Orpheum that&#8217;s supposed to be a big hit with the Hannah Montana crowd.<\/p>\n<p>Recap of last night:\u00a0 Started at Circa for $5 martini night.\u00a0 Had the Wild Strawberries and Avalanche martinis (you can view their martini list <a href=\"http:\/\/www.circamemphis.com\/CircaCocktail&amp;Beer.pdf\">here<\/a>), both quite good.\u00a0 They had the news on TV, and I saw that George W.\u00a0Bush is on a tour of the Middle East.\u00a0 He got a look at one of his hosts&#8217; prized bird collection, and even held a falcon on his arm.\u00a0 I can just hear him saying, &#8220;Well, this sure is a funny-looking chicken!&#8221;\u00a0 371 more days and counting.<\/p>\n<p>Then I moved on to the Saucer for Pint Nite, where they RAN OUT of Dos Equis Special Lager!!!!\u00a0 Totally unacceptable guys.\u00a0 I switched to my #2 choice, Sunset Wheat.\u00a0 With cold weather and no basketball game, the Saucer was pretty dead.\u00a0 There was a cameo appearance by former Saucer waitress Zebra Hair, who amazingly didn&#8217;t try to get me to buy her a drink or run across the street to McGuinness for ranch dressing.\u00a0 Irritated that I was deprived of my favorite beer, I left the Saucer and walked down to Big Foot with my friends Chuck and BBQ Clint, where I enjoyed a delicious 34 oz.
