Sorry the blog posts have been so sparse for the past 12 days or so. What happened was that a weather event led to me having an unexpected 11 1\/2 consecutive days off from work. It was the first time since I got my job in 2009 that I have had an entire week off that was not BBQ Fest, so I decided to go out and enjoy life and neglected the blog a little more than I meant to.<\/p>\n
The monthly Downtown Neighborhood Association meeting is tonight at 6, in the High Point in the Pinch, 1 Commerce Street, next to the Balinese Ballroom. Bass Pro will have reps there to give updates on what’s happening with construction in the Pyramid. There will also be an update on prevention of Downtown crime by Councilman Lee Harris and a South Main police officer. Social at 6, program at 6:30, free catering by Ferraro’s Pizza.<\/p>\n
Oshi, the new burger bar opening across from Local, is having two exclusive tasting preview parties September 28 and 29. Tickets are $25 and benefit Exceptional Foundation of West Tennessee. Saturday, October 4 is Family Fun Day beginning at 10 AM with a free community dinner and art auction and late-night dance party beginning at 6:30 PM.<\/p>\n I went to WWE Monday Night Raw at the FedExForum last night. I agree with this post on Bleacher Report<\/a>. The overall card was not very memorable, although Dolph Ziggler regained the Intercontinental title and Dean Ambrose was just awesome in general. But: A boring main event that’s been done a million times, a wrestling bunny, no Paul Heyman, no Bray Wyatt, no call-ups from NXT (and I really hoped to see The Ascension).
