Happy New Year! Here are a few quick notes for football watchers.<\/p>\n

I haven’t found anything about it on social media, but given that it’s a sports bar I’m about 95% sure Max’s will be open for all the bowl games today.<\/p>\n

Silly Goose will open around 1:30 today for football watching.<\/p>\n

Bardog Tavern is opening at 8 AM and I will be there no later than 8:05. Champagne toast for the first 10 third-shifters, water and bacon\/egg\/cheese slider for the first 10 still-drunk-from-last-nighters.<\/p>\n

In case I don’t get another post up before then – Local is having a TaxSlayer Bowl watch party tomorrow at 2:20. Local is notorious for being a bar where UT fans gather.<\/p>\n

Today’s bowl matchups:<\/p>\n

Outback Bowl – Auburn vs. Wisconsin – 11 AM, ESPN2<\/li>\n
Cotton Bowl – Michigan State vs. Baylor – 11:30 AM, ESPN<\/li>\n
Citrus Bowl – Missouri vs. Minnesota – noon, ABC<\/li>\n
Rose Bowl\/BCS semifinal – Oregon va. Florida State, 4 PM, ESPN<\/li>\n
Sugar Bowl\/BCS semifinal – Alabama vs. Ohio State, 7:30 PM, ESPN<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
