{"id":1678,"date":"2008-03-07T00:28:26","date_gmt":"2008-03-07T06:28:26","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.paulryburn.com\/blog\/?p=1678"},"modified":"2008-03-07T00:28:26","modified_gmt":"2008-03-07T06:28:26","slug":"night-out-report","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.paulryburn.com\/blog\/2008\/03\/07\/night-out-report\/","title":{"rendered":"Night out report"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>(PROFANITY ALERT:\u00a0 If you don&#8217;t like cuss words don&#8217;t read.\u00a0 This is a drunk post.)<\/p>\n<p>Started the evening at the Saucer.\u00a0 Their Spring 2008 menus are out and some of their prices have been raised dramatically.\u00a0 Their flights, five 5 oz. glasses around a particular theme, were $6.50 each a year ago.\u00a0 Now flights cost $10.50 for the &#8220;Build Your Own&#8221; flight and $8.50 for the others.\u00a0 Of course, I discovered this after ordering a German flight.\u00a0 If I had known they were planning to give it to us up the ass on the flight prices on the Spring menu, I would&#8217;ve made sure to get all my flights done while the winter menu was still intact.<\/p>\n<p>Beer report:<\/p>\n<p>Previous total:\u00a0 $507.25<\/p>\n<p>Beers 94, 95 and 96 (but 89, 90 and 91 according to the Saucer):<br \/>\nTillburg&#8217;s Dutch Brown Ale $4.50<br \/>\nGerman Flight $8.50<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>Spaten Lager<br \/>\nPaulaner Hefe-Weizen<br \/>\nPaulaner Salvator Dopplebock<br \/>\nSpaten Bock<br \/>\nSpaten Oktoberfest<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Kirin Ichiban $4.00<br \/>\nTip $16.50 x ~30% = $5.00<br \/>\nTotal $21.50<\/p>\n<p>Grand total:\u00a0 $528.75<\/p>\n<p>After the Saucer I made my way to the Red Rooster.\u00a0 That place is going to do well.\u00a0 By 11:30 it was two-thirds packed, not bad considering it&#8217;s in the 30s outside.\u00a0 Come rooftop party season that place is going to be SLAMMED.<\/p>\n<p>They had a band tonight that did the best cover of the Beatles&#8217; &#8220;Helter Skelter&#8221; I have ever heard.<\/p>\n<p>However, I do have one piece of constructive criticism for the Rooster.\u00a0 When I went in the men&#8217;s room, they had a restroom attendant.\u00a0 WTF?\u00a0 A RESTROOM ATTENDANT IS A BUM WITH A BOTTLE OF LIQUID SOAP.\u00a0 I know how to squirt soap on my hands without assistance.\u00a0 I know how to get paper towels from the dispenser and dry my hands.\u00a0 I don&#8217;t need help.\u00a0 I am not willing to tip a dollar for help which I do not need.\u00a0 PLEASE GET RID OF THAT MOTHERFUCKER IMMEDIATELY.\u00a0 Until they take my advice, I recommend that you do not shake hands with me if you run into me at the Rooster.\u00a0 Seriously, I am a lot less likely to go to clubs where I know I&#8217;ll have to deal with (and bypass) a attendant every time I need to go.\u00a0 My irritation at having to avoid tipping an attendant $1 causes me to avoid the entire club and avoid spending $25 at the bar.\u00a0 I know a lot of other people feel the same.\u00a0 It&#8217;s a concept that does not work in Memphis.\u00a0 Maybe L.A. but not here.<\/p>\n<p>Ladies, are restroom attendants as annoying in your restrooms?\u00a0 Or are you glad to see them?\u00a0 I know y&#8217;all spend a lot more time in the bathroom than we do.\u00a0 Just curious.<\/p>\n<p>Off to bed.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>(PROFANITY ALERT:\u00a0 If you don&#8217;t like cuss words don&#8217;t read.\u00a0 This is a drunk post.)
