Are you sure you&#8217;re reading the right blog?"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Unusual Monday night, as I only had five beers, and only four of them were at the Saucer.\u00a0 Can&#8217;t remember the last time that happened.\u00a0 Couple of reasons for it though.\u00a0 One is that I really am slammed at work this week, and can&#8217;t afford to go in hung over.\u00a0 I need every brain cell I can get for the next four days.\u00a0 Second of all, it was about to rain.\u00a0 I did my first four beers at the Saucer, then headed south to Calhoun&#8217;s to see Best Pool Partner Ever Lauren.\u00a0 Had one beer and the sausage and cheese plate there.\u00a0 Hang on, let&#8217;s post a pic of the sausage and cheese plate.<\/p>\n<div><a title=\"calhouns-sandc.jpg\" href=\"http:\/\/www.paulryburn.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2008\/03\/calhouns-sandc.jpg\"><\/a><\/div>\n<p><a title=\"calhouns-sandc.jpg\" href=\"http:\/\/www.paulryburn.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2008\/03\/calhouns-sandc.jpg\"><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" src=\"http:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.paulryburn.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2008\/03\/calhouns-sandc.jpg?resize=500%2C375\" border=\"0\" alt=\"calhouns-sandc.jpg\" data-recalc-dims=\"1\" \/><\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><\/a><\/p>\n<p>It&#8217;s the most expensive item on the food menu &#8211; $8.00 &#8211; but it&#8217;s a lot of food.\u00a0 I couldn&#8217;t finish it and I was hungry.\u00a0 It&#8217;s a lot more than what you&#8217;d get on the sausage and cheese plate at Huey&#8217;s for nearly the same price.<\/p>\n<p>If you&#8217;ve ever been to Calhoun&#8217;s, you know that they give you markers and can write on the bar there.\u00a0 Look what I found on the bar tonight (click for larger image):<\/p>\n<div><a title=\"bumphrases.jpg\" href=\"http:\/\/www.paulryburn.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2008\/03\/bumphrases.jpg\"><\/a><\/div>\n<p><a title=\"bumphrases.jpg\" href=\"http:\/\/www.paulryburn.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2008\/03\/bumphrases.jpg\"><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" src=\"http:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.paulryburn.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2008\/03\/bumphrases.jpg?resize=500%2C375\" border=\"0\" alt=\"bumphrases.jpg\" data-recalc-dims=\"1\" \/><\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><\/a><\/p>\n<p>I drank my beer, at most of my food, tabbed out, and walked up Main.\u00a0 It was starting to thunder.\u00a0 I usually don&#8217;t take the trolley, but as I approached the Huling stop I decided to make an exception.\u00a0 A couple of blocks after I got on, it started to pour.\u00a0 I would&#8217;ve been soaked if I hadn&#8217;t made that decision.\u00a0 Good trolley karma.\u00a0 With the Madison\/Main stop practically at my front door, I stayed dry.<\/p>\n<p>Sat at the window with Bicycle Bobby earlier in the evening at the Saucer.\u00a0 We watched a guy walk down the street with a Victoria&#8217;s Secret bag.\u00a0 He&#8217;s buying a gift for his girlfriend, I thought.\u00a0 Or maybe not.\u00a0 Do I have any readers who are current or former Victoria&#8217;s Secret employees?\u00a0 I&#8217;d be curious how often they get men in there wanting to go in the dressing rooms and try on the lingerie.\u00a0 I bet it happens more often than you&#8217;d suspect.<\/p>\n<p>On the way to the Saucer, I ran into my friend Suzy, who wished me a happy belated Easter.\u00a0 WTF?\u00a0 Easter was 8 days ago.\u00a0 Maybe she just left Walgreens, where they had a lot of leftover Easter candy on sale.\u00a0 Can&#8217;t imagine why else she&#8217;d have Easter on her mind.<\/p>\n<p>Beer report:<\/p>\n<p>Previous total:\u00a0 $970.00<\/p>\n<p>Beers 164, 165, and 166 (but 158, 159, and 160 according to the Saucer &#8211; one beer still to be put back on because the mini-me forgot to hand in a ticket Saturday):<br \/>\nSpaten Lager $2.75<br \/>\nLeft Hand Sawtooth Amber $2.75<br \/>\nSaucer Favorite Black &amp; Tan $2.75<br \/>\nTip:\u00a0 $1 x 3 beers = $3.00<br \/>\nTotal:\u00a0 $11.25<\/p>\n<p>Grand total:\u00a0 $981.25<\/p>\n<p>Off to bed.\u00a0 I feel like I&#8217;m letting my readers down by calling it quits so early on Pint Nite, but work does call.\u00a0 Nevertheless, I can promise there will be at least 2 posts tomorrow, so check back.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Unusual Monday night, as I only had five beers, and only four of them were at the Saucer.\u00a0 Can&#8217;t remember the last time that happened.\u00a0 Couple of reasons for it though.\u00a0 One is that I really am slammed at work this week, and can&#8217;t afford to go in hung over.\u00a0 I need every brain cell &hellip; <a href=\"http:\/\/www.paulryburn.com\/blog\/2008\/03\/31\/only-five-beers-on-a-monday-night-are-you-sure-youre-reading-the-right-blog\/\" class=\"more-link\">Continue reading<span class=\"screen-reader-text\"> &#8220;Only FIVE beers on a Monday night?
