Come have some food and a drink, thank a police officer, and learn how police-community partnerships can make our neighborhood a safer place.<\/p>\n<p>A very neat concept happens at Loflin Yard Thursday night: <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/events\/1563771150595554\/\">The Civil Pour<\/a>. The idea is that we need to regain the ability to listen to each other, that we need to recover civil discourse. It&#8217;s not a debate, and it&#8217;s not a fight. The discussion topic this time is &#8220;red state&#8221;\/&#8221;blue state.&#8221; The idea is that we tend to think in binary terms about politics. Liberal\/conservative, black lives\/blue lives, pro-life\/pro-choice, gun control\/2nd Amendment, etc. What if we stopped thinking in binary?<\/p>\n<p>Are you a Disney fan? Come test your knowledge at <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/events\/716494325158211\/\">Disney trivia brunch at Bleu<\/a> this Sunday, August 7. It&#8217;s hosted by Cerrito Trivia.<\/p>\n<p>If you work in the Medical District and have considered moving closer to work, you may be able to <a href=\"http:\/\/www.commercialappeal.com\/columnists\/ted-evanoff\/Evanoff-Medical-District-plans-to-pay-workers-to-live-near-their-jobs-388704082.html\">get paid to do that<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>If you&#8217;re a fan of the Sushi Jimmi food truck, good news&#8230; he has announced that there will be a Sushi Jimmi restaurant coming this fall.<\/p>\n<p>There will be a Choose901 back-to-school pop-up shop at 477 S. Main Friday from 3 to 7 PM and Saturday from 10 AM to 3 PM. There will be Memphis themed backpacks, T-shirts, hats and more. Donations for Memphis Athletic Ministries will be accepted at the shop.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/hotelnapoleonmemphis\/?fref=ts\">Hotel Napoleon is now on Facebook.<\/a> &#8220;Like&#8221; the hotel for news updates on when the grand opening will happen.<\/p>\n<p>The next edition of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/events\/1240213045989924\/\">MyHQ Sunset Yoga<\/a> happens tomorrow evening, Wednesday, August 3, Free yoga class, free wine, BYO picnic.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/events\/1091641514240091\/\">The Jaclyn Monroe Band plays the Dirty Crow Inn<\/a> Saturday night at 9 PM.<\/p>\n<p>Congratulations to former Memphis Tigers basketball star Elliot Williams, who has signed a one-year contract with the Golden State Warriors.<\/p>\n<p>The RDC is <a href=\"http:\/\/www.memphisflyer.com\/NewsBlog\/archives\/2016\/08\/01\/rdc-closing-riverside-one-option-to-alleviate-cruising-gridlock\">considering closing Riverside on Sundays<\/a> to thwart cruising, which brings the street almost to a standstill during spring and fall peak times.<\/p>\n<p>That&#8217;s it for now.
