I got to try the new PBR Extra for the first time yesterday. No bars Downtown (that I’m aware of) sell it yet, but it’s in convenience stores. The 6.5% beer tastes almost exactly like regular 5% PBR. I didn’t notice a difference while I was drinking it, but when I woke up this morning I felt slightly groggy. “When have I felt like this before?” I asked myself, and realized I had felt like that when the night before, I had knocked off a high-gravity beer on my quest for my next plate at the Flying Saucer.
