Blank.\u00a0 Blank, known as &#8220;Skippy&#8221; to friends and as &#8220;Christopher Blank&#8221; to his readers, wrote about paying Memphis dues.\u00a0 By &#8220;paying dues&#8221; he means money or possessions given up due to being a burglary or robbery victim in one of the nation&#8217;s most crime-ridden cities.\u00a0 You can read his editorial <a href=\"http:\/\/www.commercialappeal.com\/news\/2008\/jun\/29\/memphis-dues-how-much-is-too-much\/\">here<\/a>.\u00a0 Blank refers to himself as a &#8220;badass,&#8221; and I don&#8217;t think anyone who has seen Skippy in person would dare disagree.<\/p>\n<p>Street-People.com followed up with <a href=\"http:\/\/www.street-people.com\/index.php?option=com_content&amp;task=view&amp;id=271&amp;Itemid=32\">an editorial of their own<\/a>.\u00a0 Although they agreed with most of what Blank wrote, they made one addition:\u00a0 Memphis dues include money given to the street people, bums, vagrants and panhandlers who harass you as you try to go about your business in this city.<\/p>\n<p>Two very interesting articles.\u00a0 Worth a read in your free time.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>On Sunday, an opinion piece appeared in the Commerical Appeal by writer Skipford M.
