There have been some car break-ins in the South Bluffs area, and also in the area around The Lofts at Tennessee and G.E. Patterson. Everyone be safe – just because you park in a gated community does not mean that you’re free to disregard safety precautions. Don’t leave anything valuable in your car at night. Even something as insignificant as a CD can be sold for enough money to buy a bottle or crack rock. Also, be careful not to leave loose change in your car in plain sight.<\/div>\n

I had a Badass Burger at Hoop’s Bar last night. Chef Michael Patrick, not realizing I had already ordered, sent up some vegetarian rotini for me to try. “I read that you have a health guru now, so I figured she’d approve of it,” he told me.<\/div>\n

… Which brings me to my next point. Where should health guru AL and I go for our next meal? We’ve dined at several restaurants around the Downtown area, and AL has given me advice about healthy eating each time (much of which I’ve ignored). Hoop’s Bar, by the way, is getting busy at night… it seems to have inherited a lot of the after-work service industry crowd that frequented McGuinness before it closed. Great choice! It’s hard to beat a bar that has PBR cans.<\/div>\n
