So, I’ve begun my experiment of turning odd or obscure songs into Pandora stations. I started with the song that inspired the idea, “I Beg Your Pardon, You Never Promised Me a Rose Garden” by Lynn Anderson. That station produced a mix of ’60s and ’70s crossover country\/pop, some of which I had not heard since I was a child. Songs that came up included<\/p>\n

“Harper Valley PTA” recorded by Loretta Lynn<\/li>\n
“You’ve Got to Kiss an Angel Good Morning” by Charlie Pride<\/li>\n
“Crazy” by Patsy Cline (I used to play this on Earnestine & Hazel’s jukebox on Saturday mornings, as a commentary on who else was in the bar)<\/li>\n
“These Boots Were Made for Walkin'” by Nancy Sinatra<\/li>\n
“Rhinestone Cowboy” by Glen Campbell<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
Also I discovered that Lynn Anderson recorded “Rose Garden” at least four different times. After the fourth, I killed the Pandora station. I’ll do some more stations this week, and though hardly an obscure artist, maybe Saturday I’ll do a Billy Joel station in honor of Randy.<\/p>\n
