I started with the song that inspired the idea, “I Beg Your Pardon, You Never Promised Me a Rose Garden” by Lynn Anderson. That station produced a mix of ’60s and ’70s crossover country/pop, some of which I had not heard since I was a child. Songs that came up included

“Harper Valley PTA” recorded by Loretta Lynn

“You’ve Got to Kiss an Angel Good Morning” by Charlie Pride

“Crazy” by Patsy Cline (I used to play this on Earnestine & Hazel’s jukebox on Saturday mornings, as a commentary on who else was in the bar)

“These Boots Were Made for Walkin'” by Nancy Sinatra

“Rhinestone Cowboy” by Glen Campbell

Also I discovered that Lynn Anderson recorded “Rose Garden” at least four different times. After the fourth, I killed the Pandora station. I’ll do some more stations this week, and though hardly an obscure artist, maybe Saturday I’ll do a Billy Joel station in honor of Randy.

From Fortune: No, you don’t have to pay back your coronavirus stimulus payment.
