{"id":2420,"date":"2008-08-02T13:04:52","date_gmt":"2008-08-02T18:04:52","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.paulryburn.com\/blog\/?p=2420"},"modified":"2008-08-02T09:25:25","modified_gmt":"2008-08-02T14:25:25","slug":"hello-memphis-sounds-and-dunkin-donuts-goodbye-mcalisters-and-ceriello","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.paulryburn.com\/blog\/2008\/08\/02\/hello-memphis-sounds-and-dunkin-donuts-goodbye-mcalisters-and-ceriello\/","title":{"rendered":"Hello, Memphis Sounds and Dunkin&#8217; Donuts; goodbye, McAlister&#8217;s and Ceriello"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Yesterday, after a run home to do some stuff on my laptop, I decided to walk up to Roma at Third and Court to get their lasagna to take back to work.\u00a0 As I walked up Third, I saw this at the entrance of the parking garage next door to Roma:<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/i1.wp.com\/www.paulryburn.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2008\/08\/memphissounds.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-2421\" title=\"memphissounds\" src=\"http:\/\/i1.wp.com\/www.paulryburn.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2008\/08\/memphissounds.jpg?resize=500%2C375\" alt=\"\" srcset=\"http:\/\/i2.wp.com\/www.paulryburn.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/\/home\/content\/p\/a\/u\/paulrybu\/html\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2008\/08\/memphissounds.jpg?w=1600 1600w, http:\/\/i2.wp.com\/www.paulryburn.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/\/home\/content\/p\/a\/u\/paulrybu\/html\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2008\/08\/memphissounds.jpg?resize=300%2C225 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 500px) 85vw, 500px\" data-recalc-dims=\"1\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Looks like a new club is about to open up&#8230; the sign to the right of the entrance says, &#8220;Coming soon &#8211; Memphis Sounds &#8211; Hot Blues, Cool Jazz.&#8221;\u00a0 Always good to see new music venues in the area.\u00a0 The location is going to be something of a disadvantage &#8211; it&#8217;s on Third between Court and Madison, not near any other clubs, and the fact that it&#8217;s inside the entrance to a parking garage won&#8217;t help either.\u00a0 However, if they bring quality entertainment, people will hear about it and come.\u00a0 We&#8217;ll see.\u00a0 I&#8217;m hoping for the best.<\/p>\n<p>If you read the Memphis Business Journal print edition and website, you already know the rest of the news.\u00a0 Dunkin&#8217; Donuts is moving into Memphis, and according to this week&#8217;s print MBJ, they&#8217;re looking at 66 S.
