{"id":2435,"date":"2008-08-06T16:01:52","date_gmt":"2008-08-06T21:01:52","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.paulryburn.com\/blog\/?p=2435"},"modified":"2008-08-06T16:57:05","modified_gmt":"2008-08-06T21:57:05","slug":"wed-update-cordova-saucer-sma-meeting-at-boscos-brewery-espn-college-football-gameplan-and-nfl-ticket-at-calhouns","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.paulryburn.com\/blog\/2008\/08\/06\/wed-update-cordova-saucer-sma-meeting-at-boscos-brewery-espn-college-football-gameplan-and-nfl-ticket-at-calhouns\/","title":{"rendered":"Wed update: Cordova Saucer, SMA meeting at Boscos brewery, ESPN College Football GamePlan and NFL Ticket at Calhoun&#8217;s"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>(Edit:\u00a0 Just received an update from one of the managers at the Saucer.\u00a0 The license loss only affects the low-alcohol beer (under 6%).\u00a0 Over 6% is considered liquor by the state, and is covered by a different license, so the Cordova Saucer can still legally sell the high-alcohol beers.\u00a0 Just sip &#8217;em a little slower than you would a Bud Light.\u00a0 Also, the Downtown Saucer is not affected in any way by what happened this afternoon in Cordova.\u00a0 That means I&#8217;ll be at the Downtown Saucer enjoying a Sunset Wheat in about 30).<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>This afternoon I received a phone call from a friend of mine who was at the East Bumblefuck Flying Saucer on Germantown Parkway\u00a0for a business function.\u00a0 Shortly before he got there, he was told, the police arrived and walked out with the business&#8217;s beer license.\u00a0 They can only serve liquor until they get it back, which is not good considering they&#8217;re a beer bar.\u00a0 He didn&#8217;t have details why the permit was pulled.\u00a0 Not sure if this affects the Downtown Saucer, but I don&#8217;t think it does.\u00a0 I certainly hope it doesn&#8217;t, with one of my favorite beers, Leinenkugel Sunset Wheat,\u00a0on Fire Sale today.\u00a0 Certainly does suck for Cordovans, who won&#8217;t be able to get their favorite beers, Coors Light for example, tonight at their Saucer.<\/p>\n<p>Speaking of beer, the South Main Association&#8217;s monthly meeting will be this Tuesday, August 12, at the Boscos Beer brewery at 827 S.
