I got my hair cut at lunchtime, then went and voted.<\/p>\n
I have to admit, the temptation to just skip\u00a0voting was great.\u00a0 To do it meant driving the car (which I hate doing), getting out in the rain (which I hate doing, and it was raining pretty hard at the time), and standing in line (which I hate more than anything).\u00a0 I’ll admit, I thought, “surely Steve Cohen will win handily – he’ll do fine even without my vote.”<\/p>\n
In the end, though, I made myself do it.\u00a0 The thought of having Nikki Tinker represent me in Congress – or, more accurately, the thought of Nikki Tinker representing special interests in Congress while claiming to represent me – was too much to bear.\u00a0 I don’t want to be in any way responsible for that.\u00a0 So out in the rain I went, driving to a church at 538 Linden which was my designated polling place.\u00a0 Actually, my worst fear, standing in a long line, turned out to be unfounded.\u00a0 There was no line at all.<\/p>\n
I do have to say, having the polling place way on the other side of Danny Thomas is extremely inconvenient for Downtowners who walk everywhere.\u00a0 Yeah I have a car and was able to get there, but many Downtowners don’t.\u00a0 Seems like there ought to be a voting location no more than 3 blocks from the trolley line.<\/p>\n
