The goody-goody preachy-preachy Facebook\/Instagram &#8220;health experts&#8221; who think we should lock down until June see these and forward them to the health department.<\/p>\n<p>Mayor Strickland: <a href=\"https:\/\/www.wmcactionnews5.com\/2020\/12\/23\/mayor-jim-strickland-says-he-wouldve-handled-new-restrictions-restaurants-differently\/\">&#8220;I probably would have handled restaurants a bit differently&#8221;<\/a> in the most recent health directive. Strickland thinks the overall intent of Health Directive 16 is correct, but he would have kept restaurants at 50%. Thank you, Mr. Mayor!<\/p>\n<p>In-person court appearances have been <a href=\"https:\/\/www.localmemphis.com\/article\/news\/health\/coronavirus\/in-court-appearances-suspended-memphis-through-january\/522-f70e21a7-1130-447e-989c-d3ebf06aa6ef\">suspended<\/a> through the end of January.<\/p>\n<p>The Memphis Tigers football team <a href=\"https:\/\/dailymemphian.com\/section\/sportsmemphis-tigers-football\/article\/18926\/memphis-emphatically-snaps-bowl-losing-streak-with-win-over-fau\">got a win<\/a> in the Montgomery Bowl yesterday, topping FAU 25-10.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/dailymemphian.com\/section\/sportsmemphis-grizzlies\/article\/18928\/spurs-spoil-career-night-for-ja-morant-in-grizzlies-loss\">The Grizzlies lost their season opener<\/a> to the San Antonio Spurs, but Ja Morant had a career-high 44 points. Ja appears to be on the way up that escalator now.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.localmemphis.com\/article\/sports\/nba\/grizz-nation\/mural-downtown-memphis-grizzles-star-ja-morant\/522-8f4d878b-3a07-46e5-ae35-d0ac0af0a7ac\">Ja has his own mural<\/a> now, on the side of Slim &amp; Husky&#8217;s in The Edge District. Must be nice to be only 21 and already have a mural and a &#8216;raffe.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.cbssports.com\/nba\/news\/ja-morant-breaking-shaqs-record-lamelo-balls-historic-scoreless-debut-lead-10-wild-stats-from-nba-openers\/\">Ja stole a record last night:<\/a> He surpassed Shaq to become the youngest player to score 40 or more points on a team&#8217;s opening night.<\/p>\n<p>Downtown&#8217;s Slave Haven Underground Museum has announced <a href=\"https:\/\/www.wmcactionnews5.com\/2020\/12\/23\/pink-palace-slave-haven-underground-railroad-museum-temporarily-closing-covid-cases-increase\/\">a temporary closure<\/a> due to COVID-19. Also closed until further notice is the W.C. Handy Home at Fourth and Beale.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/dailymemphian.com\/section\/neighborhoodsdowntown\/article\/18893\/poetic-justice-rogue-road-sign-finds-legal-home\">A rogue road sign<\/a>, installed by an artist on the 800 block of North Parkway and <a href=\"https:\/\/dailymemphian.com\/article\/16652\/no-poetic-license-here-memphis-removes-artists\">taken down by the city<\/a>, has found a permanent home at the Metal Museum. The sign was one of about a dozen installed by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.roadsidesenryu.com\/\">the artist<\/a> in cities across the country. It reads, &#8220;When you were still young \/ Did you ever dream about \/ Being who you are&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>If there&#8217;s any news tomorrow, I&#8217;ll be back with it.
