The Memphis Tigers led East Carolina by 10 or more for most of the game Saturday – but lost at the buzzer 72-71. The Tigers now have essentially no chance of getting to the NCAA tournament outside of winning the AAC tournament.<\/p>\n

I don’t think Penny should be fired, but I sure think Memphis AD Laird Veatch needs to check the “Fails to meet expectations” box when Penny comes in for his annual performance review.<\/p>\n
The next game, if anyone cares, for the Tigers is a home game vs. SMU at 6 PM Thursday. The game will be on ESPN2 so you’ll be able to watch Memphis miss its free throws on national TV.<\/p>\n
