If you go to only one crawfish boil this spring, make it a Saturday at Max’s.<\/strong> Best damn crawfish in the city. Far better than any of the festivals. Spicy to the point that there’s often a tear running down my cheek as I crack open the last couple of crawdads.<\/p>\n\n\n

Prices are reasonable – $12.50 for 1 pound of crawfish or $21 for 2 pounds. Pricing includes the weight of the crawfish only, but you also get extras – corn, taters, and sausage, all cooked in that magnificent spicy boil. They also have boiled shrimp for $16 a pound, same deal about extras and weight. Max’s is 21+ and a small space, so they ask that you leave the kiddos and doggos at home.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
