Yesterday I finished scrolling through 187 pages of biographies in the Memphis Public Libraries’ e-collection<\/a>. Trivia question: What one person has far more biographies (and autobiographies) in the collection than any other? I’ll put the answer at the end of this post.<\/p>\n

I checked out one more book, about Clarence Saunders, the invention of the self-service grocery store concept, and the founding of Piggly Wiggly.<\/p>\n

Memphis Jookin’ happens at Cossitt Library today. Local Memphis Jookin’ legends will lead a public class from 5 to 6 PM. From 6 to 7 PM there will be demos and a dance session. Participants are asked to wear closed-toe shoes and comfortable clothing.<\/p>\n
