It&#8217;s operated by Ashley Parham and Daryl Andrews, who have owned Walking Pants Curiosities gift shop on G.E. Patterson for several years now. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.actionnews5.com\/2023\/05\/22\/new-owners-transform-now-shuttered-iconic-shop-beale-street\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">This May 19 Action News 5 report<\/a> will give you an idea of what to expect at the new Beale location. Go see Ashley and Daryl at the new location &#8211; they are two people who make our neighborhood a more vibrant place.<\/p>\n<p>There will be <a href=\"https:\/\/www.actionnews5.com\/2023\/06\/03\/celebration-event-announced-tyre-nichols-would-be-30th-birthday\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">a birthday event<\/a> for what would have been Tyre Nichols&#8217; 30th birthday this Monday, June 5.\u00a0 The celebration will begin at 6 PM in Fourth Bluff Park and Front Street will be blocked off and turned into a skate park. Nichols was badly injured in a traffic stop gone wrong and died in January. Officers involved in the stop were charged with second-degree murder, official oppression, and other crimes.<\/p>\n<p>Those celebrating Pride Month got a nice surprise yesterday: A federal judge <a href=\"https:\/\/wreg.com\/news\/local\/tennessee-law-restricting-drag-performances-ruled-unconstitutional-by-federal-judge\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">struck down<\/a> the incredibly stupid law, passed this spring by the Tennessee legislature, that severely restricted public drag performances.<\/p>\n<p>The Daily Memphian has <a href=\"https:\/\/dailymemphian.com\/section\/neighborhoods\/article\/36555\/memphis-pride-parade-rolls-down-beale-street\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">a photo gallery<\/a> of yesterday&#8217;s Pride parade on Beale.<\/p>\n<p>Today is <a href=\"https:\/\/www.checkiday.com\/fd672227d924ff05c4ada06e69955f42\/national-cognac-day\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">National Cognac Day<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.checkiday.com\/ef431d2ae72a1de6866bb841391526a9\/national-cheese-day\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">National Cheese Day<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The Memphis Tigers <a href=\"https:\/\/www.actionnews5.com\/2023\/06\/04\/memphis-baseball-head-coach-kerrick-jackson-leaves-take-same-job-missouri\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">have lost their head baseball coach<\/a> to Missouri.<\/p>\n<p>Jerry &#8220;The King&#8221; Lawler <a href=\"https:\/\/dailymemphian.com\/subscriber\/section\/metrospirit-of-memphis\/article\/36553\/jerry-lawler-wrestler-stroke-recovery-memphis-liberty-bowl\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">will receive the AutoZone Liberty Bowl Distinguished Citizen Award<\/a> today.<\/p>\n<p>The DM has a look at <a href=\"https:\/\/dailymemphian.com\/section\/neighborhoods\/article\/36552\/downtown-memphis-commission-beginner-bike-class\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">the Downtown Memphis Commission&#8217;s novice biking class<\/a>. The next class will be 3-5 this Thursday at St. Patrick&#8217;s Church at 277 S.
