Mods have gotten WAY out of hand since the pandemic.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>I\u2019m not talking about: I\u2019ll take the burger as it comes, with fries, but can I get ranch instead of ketchup for dipping? That\u2019s a normal mod.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>What I\u2019m talking about: I\u2019d like the burger, turkey patty instead of beef, Swiss cheese instead of American, no onion, add mayo and mustard, but can I get the mayo in a cup on the side, fries very lightly salted and extra crispy?<\/p>\n<p>I hear this kind of order ALL THE TIME.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>And you know what\u2019s really ridiculous?<\/p>\n<p>The person with no mods except a different dipping sauce tips 25%.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>The person with a million bazillion mods zeroes out the tip line.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>If what I just described sounds like you, do us all a favor and EAT AT HOME!!!!!<\/p>\n<p>Catherine &amp; Mary\u2019s seeks a <a href=\"https:\/\/culinaryagents.com\/jobs\/564518-Line-Cook\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">line cook<\/a> with at least 2 years experience.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Penny\u2019s Tigers <a href=\"https:\/\/dailymemphian.com\/section\/sportsmemphis-tigers-basketball\/article\/43857\/memphis-tigers-basketball-announces-dates-for-mississippi-state-home-and-home-series\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">will host Mississippi State<\/a> at FedExForum 4 days before Christmas.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.actionnews5.com\/2024\/05\/15\/day-1-world-championship-barbecue-cooking-contest-kicks-off\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Day 1 of BBQ Fest is tonight at Tiger Lane.<\/a> SmokeSlam kicks off tomorrow at Tom Lee Park.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>City. Insomnia Cookies on Beale would be my recommendation to celebrate.<\/p>\n<p>From Beale Street Bears: The Grizzlies would be <a href=\"https:\/\/bealestreetbears.com\/posts\/memphis-grizzlies-tabbed-great-place-klay-thompson-warriors-rumors\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">an ideal landing spot<\/a> for Golden State\u2019s Klay Thompson. There\u2019s a good possibility the Warriors will break up their Big Three in the offseason.<\/p>\n<p>The Redbirds host Gwinnett at 12:05 this afternoon.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>There\u2019s going to be a <a href=\"https:\/\/downtownmemphis.com\/do\/strawberry-hennessy-summer-festival-2024\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Strawberry Hennessy Summer Festival<\/a> in Court Square on Sunday, June 15.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>The Molly Ringwalds will bring the\u201980s hits to this Thursday\u2019s Peabody rooftop party. If you pay extra for the VIP section this week, here\u2019s the menu: Crab Cakes, Lobster Mac Croquettes, Bacon-Wrapped Shrimp, Blue Cheese &amp; Bacon-Wrapped Meatballs, Mushroom &amp; Truffle Arancini, Goat Cheese &amp; Honey Triangles<\/p>\n<p>DNA will show <em>Jurassic Park<\/em> for free at BRIDGES Thursday night at 7:45. A food truck will be on site.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>I attended day 3 of the \u201cgood old-fashioned revival\u201d at the Union Mission last night. It started off with the guy who got baptized Monday night getting a certificate documenting his achievement. He could hang it on his wall, except he\u2019s homeless and therefore has no wall.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Then the Atlanta preacher led us through about 6 songs on his keyboard. In the early \u201890s he was in a nationally known country\/Southern rock band called Confederate Railroad. But, he said, he got no joy out of his life of music, drugs, and girls, and he didn\u2019t understand at the time it was because he didn\u2019t have Jesus in his life.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"YouTube video player\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/v5R-T_YF-wU?si=VIVHWE-N5-dy8kUI\" width=\"560\" height=\"315\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>Then the Arizona preacher came up and preached a sermon, which was followed by the usual ending we get to so many of these chapel services:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>All heads bowed, all eyes closed.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li>If you know that you know that you know that you know that you\u2019ve been saved, that you\u2019ve accepted Jesus into your heart, raise your hand. (He told us less than 50% of the audience raised their hands.)<\/li>\n<li>If you\u2019ve never been saved, and you feel you\u2019re ready to accept Jesus, come up and let us pray with you.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>They gave out thin red and blue paperback books to the 25 or so that came up, books that are kind of orientation guides to being \u201csaved.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The weather forecast suggests I should take tonight off from staying at the Mission, but I\u2019ve come this far; I guess I might as well see this \u201crevival\u201d thing all the way through.
