There will be food trucks, music, children\u2019s activities, and health resources.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/dailymemphian.com\/subscriber\/section\/neighborhoodssouth-memphis\/article\/44356\/memphis-elon-musk-xai-will-use-100000-chips-at-supercomputer-others\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">This subscriber-only DM article<\/a> says that Elon Musk\u2019s new supercomputer facility, to be built in Memphis, will initially employ fewer than 200. Elon\u2019s team chose Memphis for its ample power, water, and air, the article said, and Musk could consider locating other businesses here.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/dailymemphian.com\/section\/sports\/article\/44343\/autozone-liberty-bowl-2024-date-tv-espn\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">We have a date<\/a> for the 2024 Liberty Bowl: Friday, December 27 at 6 PM, broadcast on ESPN. That means the Liberty Bowl parade on Beale Street will likely be the day after Christmas.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/wreg.com\/news\/local\/mississippi-river-observation-deck-to-open-in-2026\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Ground was broken<\/a> on the Memphis Flyway observation deck Thursday in the south end of Tom Lee Park. The boardwalk expanding over the river will be the only free and ADA-compliant structure of its kind on the Mississippi. \u00a0The \u201cFlyway\u201d name is used because the Mississippi River at Memphis is part of the migration path used by ducks and other waterfowl in North America.<\/p>\n<p>Global Wellness Day will be celebrated in River Garden Park Saturday from 5 to 7 PM. Jasper Float Spa and Wellness will be on hand and there will be free massages, food, and guided meditation.<\/p>\n<p>Slim &amp; Husky\u2019s will host a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.eventbrite.com\/e\/so-icy-cider-release-party-by-slim-huskys-pizza-memphis-tickets-902032342017?aff=ebdssbcitybrowse\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">SO ICY Cider Release Party<\/a> Saturday night. DJ Yo Breezye will play.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.lebonappetit.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Le Bon Apetit<\/a>, a fundraiser for LeBonheur Children\u2019s Hospital featuring Chef Kelly English, happens Saturday night at The Kent.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.actionnews5.com\/2024\/06\/07\/supper-club-closing-downtown-memphis\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Supper Club on 2nd has closed.<\/a> According to a statement the business released, they faced a number of challenges here in Memphis that prevented them from delivering the dining experience they wanted. The Nashville version of Supper Club continues to operate and thrive.<\/p>\n<p>Friends of mine dined there (the Memphis location) and had positive reviews, but I always had a feeling that maybe Supper Club\u2019s owners didn\u2019t \u201cget\u201d Memphis. Want to know why?<\/p>\n<p>\u201c2nd.\u201d No local spells it that way. Good to see work on Memphis\u2019 future happening \u2018round the clock!<\/p>\n<p>Spots are still open for the Orpheum\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/orpheum-memphis.com\/learn-engage\/camps-intensives\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Musical Theatre Intensive<\/a> for grades 9-12 and recent graduates. It\u2019ll be held June 17-21 and 24-28 and the performance the kids will train on will be <em>Kiss Me, Kate<\/em>. They\u2019ll get training from Broadway performers and professional acting teachers.<\/p>\n<p>The Memphis Grizzlies are reported to be interested in trading up to Houston\u2019s number-3 NBA draft pick to get 7\u20192\u201d UConn center Donovan Clingan &#8211; but a Beale Street Bears writer says <a href=\"https:\/\/bealestreetbears.com\/posts\/memphis-grizzlies-recent-report-spell-disaster-pursuit-donovan-clingan\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">that may not be good enough<\/a>. A Friday in June is perfect for staying out because<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The Cossitt Library is open until 6 tonight (and I\u2019m gonna use their Wi-Fi to write a Medium article as soon as I get this post done)<\/li>\n<li>My late-night hangout stays open until 3 AM<\/li>\n<li>Sunrise is 5:45 AM, and it starts getting light outside by 5:15, so I only have to spend 2 hours and 15 minutes wandering around in the dark. And the low will get to 65 &#8211; we\u2019re not in the part of the year yet where Memphis is a steam bath 24\/7<\/li>\n<li>The Farmers Market opens at 8 AM. Maybe I\u2019ll get another of the Brazilian chocolate parfaits by Brigadiero, or maybe I\u2019ll try the lemon this time.<\/li>\n<li>The people who hand out the breakfast burritos on Saturdays are usually in Court Square by 9 AM<\/li>\n<li>The Cossitt Library opens at 10 AM<\/li>\n<li>And then I\u2019ll meet my friends Randy, Theresa, and Butt Slut #1 at Bardog at 11<\/li>\n<li>And, finally, back to the Union Mission by 7 PM Saturday to catch up on sleep.
