Monday night when I was out, I talked to a friend who had dined at Petals of a Peony<\/a> recently. She and several friends ordered five dishes and split them family style. She raved about the food, noting that the recipes were all authentic Sichuan, not the Americanized Chinese food commonly found in Memphis. <\/span><\/p>\n

This is good news for Downtowners because we\u2019re getting a restaurant named Little Petals Chinese and it\u2019s by the Petals of a Peony folks. It\u2019ll be on Madison next to the First Horizon office tower. <\/span><\/p>\n

The same friend raved about another restaurant on Madison, JEM Fine Dining<\/a> in The Edge. She said the food was delicious and the restaurant lives up to the chef\u2019s stated goal of making fine dining comfortable for people who don\u2019t normally visit that type of restaurant. <\/span><\/p>\n

The NBA trade deadline is 2 PM Central. I recommend keeping a tab open to Bleacher Report\u2019s NBA News page<\/a> and refreshing it every 10 minutes.<\/span><\/p>\n

Memphis in May is putting Beale Street Music Fest on pause<\/a> for a second year.<\/span><\/p>\n

MATA wants more funding<\/a> so it can get the trolleys back online this summer.<\/p>\n

A new Downtown gym, Grind Fitness, is hiring<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Bar Limina will open next month<\/a> in The Edge in the former Inkwell space. It will be a “technique-driven cocktail bar.” Visiting bartenders will come in and make drinks.<\/p>\n

Expect a heavy amount of yeeting at FedExForum tomorrow night for WWE Smackdown. I bet Royal Rumble winner Jey Uso will confront unified champ Cody Rhodes as Uso decides whether to challenge for Cody\u2019s title or world champion Gunther\u2019s at WrestleMania. (He\u2019ll eventually pick Gunther.)<\/span><\/p>\n
