{"id":2881,"date":"2008-12-09T14:12:26","date_gmt":"2008-12-09T20:12:26","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.paulryburn.com\/blog\/?p=2881"},"modified":"2008-12-09T14:12:26","modified_gmt":"2008-12-09T20:12:26","slug":"google-street-view-now-available","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.paulryburn.com\/blog\/2008\/12\/09\/google-street-view-now-available\/","title":{"rendered":"Google Street View now available"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Well, there goes my productivity for the afternoon.\u00a0 <a href=\"http:\/\/maps.google.com\">Google Maps<\/a> has lauched its StreetView of Memphis.\u00a0 You can zoom in on your neighborhood, click the icon that looks like an orange man, and then use the arrows to take a virtual walk around.<\/p>\n<p>Looks like Downtown was shot on a weekend morning, because most of the parking lots are empty.\u00a0 It was probably shot at least a year ago, because the Red Rooster didn&#8217;t yet exist when I &#8220;walked&#8221; down Second.<\/p>\n<p>Then I took a &#8220;walk&#8221; around the neighborhood South of the FedExForum.\u00a0 Some of the bums are known to crash at a house on Allen Street &#8211; and when I &#8220;walked&#8221; down Allen, there they were on the front porch.\u00a0 Virtual bums!<\/p>\n<p>I&#8217;ve already had people e-mail me to say they looked for me in the window of the Flying Saucer, but it apparently hadn&#8217;t opened yet.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Well, there goes my productivity for the afternoon.\u00a0 Google Maps has lauched its StreetView of Memphis.\u00a0 You can zoom in on your neighborhood, click the icon that looks like an orange man, and then use the arrows to take a virtual walk around.
