I’m in Methodist University Hospital fighting infection and swelling in my left leg. I believe “peripheral edema” is the technical term for it. I knew I was sick Thursday after but I tried to tough it out. Friday morning the 11-block walk to the Downtown core dehydrated me and left me with a high fever. Once there, friends talked me into calling an ambulance.<\/p>\n
After a weekend of treatment, my fever is gone, the swelling is down, and the infection is under control. I expect to be outta here by tomorrow.<\/p>\n
