<\/a>This one’s for my fellow barflies who know Dennis and Mary Pat, who are regulars at the Saucer and other Downtown bars. They actually live in Alabama, where Dennis is a principal, but they love Downtown Memphis and visit frequently.<\/p>\n

One of the main reasons they fell in love with Memphis is the St. Jude Half Marathon that is run here every December. “They do a fantastic job of staging a first class event,”\u00a0the couple\u00a0wrote.<\/p>\n

Mary Pat has a challenge for all her Downtown Memphis friends. She’s running the half marathon.\u00a0 She\u00a0set up a St. Jude Heroes page here<\/a>, and she’s asking everyone to donate the equivalent of at least one good night’s bar tab (it can be a Pint Nite tab if you want). Her goal is to raise at least $2,000 for St. Jude by the day of the race.<\/p>\n

Even if you can’t donate, Mary Pat would appreciate it if you’d at least check out the page and pass on the info via e-mail, Facebook, Twitter or whatever your preferred method of communication is. I’ve posted a pic of her below.<\/p>\n
