You know, lately I’ve been wondering if there’s been too much Brick on this blog.\u00a0 However, in the past\u00a0week I’ve had people come up to me and say, “I love the Brick quotes.\u00a0 Keep ’em coming.\u00a0 We want more pictures too!”\u00a0 OK, then I’ll keep going with the Brick quotes of the week, at least until she gets smarter,\u00a0which is not\u00a0likely to happen in the near future.<\/p>\n
However, Brick is not the only quotable waitress at the Saucer.\u00a0 The others deserve equal time, and in this post, they get it.<\/p>\n
Two Sundays ago, I was hanging out at the Saucer, playing pool.\u00a0 One of the waitresses asked if I had been to church that morning.<\/p>\n
I looked at her incredulously and said, “The way I look at things, I’m in church right now.”<\/p>\n
She seemed to like that answer.\u00a0 Then she asked, “Do you think Christians are cannibals?”<\/p>\n
“What do you mean?” I asked back.<\/p>\n
“Well, think about when they take communion,” she explained.\u00a0 “When they eat the wafer, they’re eating the body of Christ.\u00a0 When they drink the wine, they’re drinking the blood of Christ.\u00a0 Eating and drinking somebody?\u00a0 That’s cannibalism.”\u00a0 I had to admit, she had a point.<\/p>\n
“Communion wafers are good, though,” she said.\u00a0 “I wish you could buy them in a box at the store.”<\/p>\n
