Sad news:\u00a0 Side Street Grill in Midtown was destroyed by a massive fire last night<\/a>.<\/p>\n

If you like Milky Ways and shop at the Downtown Walgreens, look near the second cash register from the door as you go in.\u00a0 They have a new kind of Milky Way called “Simply Caramel.”\u00a0 Just caramel covered by chocolate, without the nougat found in regular Milky Ways.\u00a0 Really good.<\/p>\n

The Kindle App on my iPhone has ruined me.\u00a0 A couple of days ago, I decided to order this book:<\/p>\n

However, unlike the last several books I have ordered, this one was not available in Kindle version. That means I have to WAIT for it to be physically delivered, and it’s killing me! I want my book NOW!!!\u00a0 I have all day Saturday with nothing to do, and my book is sitting in a FedEx delivery hub somewhere.<\/p>\n

Actually, I probably would have ordered this book months ago if there had been a Kindle version, because Daniel Negreanu is my favorite professional poker player.\u00a0 I wonder how much in royalties authors will lose this year because their books are not available in e-reader version?<\/p>\n

I’m pleased to report that a Brick quote has been obtained.\u00a0 When I came in last night, she said, “I’m going to avoid you so you can’t get a quote.\u00a0 And I’m not working tomorrow or Sunday, so you’re going to be out of luck.”\u00a0 Apparently, in Brick’s world, though, “avoid” means “come over and talk every 5 minutes.”\u00a0 It wasn’t long before she provided a new quote.\u00a0 There’s a lot of irony in this one.\u00a0 It will be up tomorrow.<\/p>\n

After 10 years of DJing, DJ Scotty B has announced that he has his first club residency.\u00a0 He will be at Rehab Disco from 9 to 3 Fridays and Saturdays beginning March 5.\u00a0 Kudos to Rehab on an awesome DJ selection.\u00a0 I will definitely be in there to hear Scotty’s tunes.<\/p>\n

One of the best food blogs in the city, Dining with Monkeys, has a new post about Abyssinia restaurant<\/a>.\u00a0 OMG that food looks delicious.\u00a0 I have got to go there soon, or organize a group to go so we can share multiple dishes.<\/p>\n

Local photographer Kyle Blair will have a show at South of Beale on Thursday, February 25 at 8 PM.\u00a0 The title is “S. Main in Pictures.”\u00a0 I’ve talked with Kyle about his work many times over beers at the Silly Goose, and look forward to seeing his photos.<\/p>\n
