{"id":6538,"date":"2010-05-02T11:20:02","date_gmt":"2010-05-02T16:20:02","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.paulryburn.com\/blog\/?p=6538"},"modified":"2010-05-02T11:20:02","modified_gmt":"2010-05-02T16:20:02","slug":"twitter-notes","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.paulryburn.com\/blog\/2010\/05\/02\/twitter-notes\/","title":{"rendered":"Twitter notes"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Okay, nothing much interesting to blog about this morning.\u00a0 Well, several interesting things did come up yesterday, but &#8220;Paul, you&#8217;re not allowed to blog this&#8221; was involved in every one of them, so I&#8217;m not allowed to share.<\/p>\n<p>I&#8217;m trying to use Twitter more effectively, to let people know about drink and food specials I see as I wander the streets of Downtown.\u00a0 Follow me at @paulryburn to receive those tweets.\u00a0 Of course, you have to put up with a lot of crap tweets too, stuff like my zillion Foursquare checkins at the Saucer, trash-talking #douchebags, commentary on what the Nuh-Uh Girl is eating, etc.\u00a0 @DowntownMemphis is also a good Twitter account to follow.\u00a0 They retweet a lot of restaurant and bar tweets about their specials.<\/p>\n<p>One note about the @firesale account:\u00a0 That&#8217;s not the Flying Saucer.\u00a0 That&#8217;s my account.\u00a0 I find out what the Fire Sale is and tweet it, either by getting the info from the Saucer&#8217;s official account (on days they remember to tweet) or from people who work Downtown who text me the Fire Sale.\u00a0 I don&#8217;t get paid to do it or anything &#8211; it&#8217;s just something several Downtowners discussed doing for a while, to keep us all informed, and I figured out how to make it work via Twitter.\u00a0 So if you don&#8217;t like the chosen beer of the day, it doesn&#8217;t do any good to bitch to @firesale about it.\u00a0 The Saucer&#8217;s account is @FlyingSaucerMem.<\/p>\n<p>Time to go out&#8230; not hungry, so not doing brunch this week.\u00a0 Saucer doesn&#8217;t open until 12&#8230; what to do?\u00a0 Hmmm maybe I&#8217;ll go by Kooky Canuck and see Magan and have a beer.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Okay, nothing much interesting to blog about this morning.\u00a0 Well, several interesting things did come up yesterday, but &#8220;Paul, you&#8217;re not allowed to blog this&#8221; was involved in every one of them, so I&#8217;m not allowed to share.
