{"id":7716,"date":"2010-09-05T09:16:09","date_gmt":"2010-09-05T14:16:09","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.paulryburn.com\/blog\/?p=7716"},"modified":"2010-09-05T09:16:09","modified_gmt":"2010-09-05T14:16:09","slug":"memphis-music-heritage-festival-continues-today","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.paulryburn.com\/blog\/2010\/09\/05\/memphis-music-heritage-festival-continues-today\/","title":{"rendered":"Memphis Music &#038; Heritage Festival continues today"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>If you missed the Memphis Music &amp; Heritage Festival yesterday because you were busy watching college football, you can still catch it today.\u00a0 It happens from 11 to 11.\u00a0 It continues to get bigger and better every year.\u00a0 Here&#8217;s <a href=\"http:\/\/www.southernfolklore.com\/index.php?option=com_content&amp;task=view&amp;id=76&amp;Itemid=91\">the schedule<\/a>.\u00a0 Some recommendations (sorry, some of these overlap, too much good music):<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Watoto Memphis, African dance clinic at the Tennessee Arts stage, 12:30; blues dance at the ArtsMemphis stage at 5:15; and folk dance at the Tennessee Arts stage, 7 PM.\u00a0 Come learn about this wonderful group that teaches children about music and dance.<\/li>\n<li>Papa Top&#8217;s West Coast Turnaround, classic country, 6:45, Folklore Hall stage<\/li>\n<li>Valerie June, folk, 8:15, Folklore Store stage<\/li>\n<li>FreeWorld, jam band, 8:15, Tennessee Arts stage<\/li>\n<li>Funzo Crush aka Young AJ featuring Al Kapone, rap, 9:00, ArtsMemphis stage<\/li>\n<li>Most of the beer vendor booths have 16 oz.
