Modern computers are based on the binary (base-2) system. Meaning, everything to a computer is a combination of 0’s and 1’s.<\/p>\n
I predict that computers of the future will be radically different – they will be based on a ternary (base-3) system. However, this system will not consist of 0, 1, and 2 as you might suppose; instead it will consist of 0, 1, and that which is neither 0 nor 1.<\/p>\n
I thought of this as I sat here<\/span><\/span> typing on the computer, looking over there<\/span><\/span> at the TV.
