Fly Lounge opens tomorrow night in FedExForum. It’s the brainchild of chef Kelly English and nightclub entrepreneur Steve Adelman. It will stay open late after Grizzlies and Tigers games and will offer sleek banquet seating, a freestanding center bar area, VIP accommodations, top-of-the-line service and live music from nightly guest DJs. Tomorrow from 9:30 to 1, after the game, there will be a party in the lounge hosted by Mike Miller, Marc Gasol, Zach Randolph and Mike Conley. More info here.

The sixth volume of Ignite Memphis happens next Tuesday, November 19. The idea is “enlighten us, but make it quick,” with presenters having five minutes to talk and slides auto-advancing every 15 seconds. It will take place at Crosstown Arts and your ticket includes beer, wine, and food.
The mixologists who will be competing in Dishcrawl’s Cocktail Wars at Alfred’s on December 12 have been announced. Many Downtown restaurants will be represented, including Mesquite Chop House, Rum Boogie, King’s Palace, Alfred’s, Automatic Slim’s, Bardog, Aldo’s Pizza Pies, and Green Beetle. Plans for tonight: It’s the final table for the Blind Bear’s 16-week poker league, and I have a seat at the table. Last time I sat down at a Blind Bear final table, I walked out with a new iPad.
