Today, we as a society progressed (+ Friday news)

In case you’ve been living in a cave the past 4 hours or so: The Supreme Court of the United States legalized same-sex marriage in all 50 states. It was a 5-4 vote, Justice Kennedy siding with the liberals. When I was in grade school, I remember learning about landmark decisions like Brown v. Board of Education and Miranda v. Arizona. Today’s decision will sit alongside them. Although the decision does not affect me personally, it makes me proud to be an American.

“The right to marry is a fundamental right inherent in the liberty of the person.” Amen.
