Saturday update

If you are a cat owner on Mud Island, might want to think twice about letting it run around outside for a while. There’s been a Nextdoor thread about a group that is trapping cats on Mud Island, which apparently has a large feral population. They take the cats to the vet and get them spayed or neutered. The vet also clips off the top of one of the cats’ ears to indicate “this cat has been previously trapped.” Cats are then returned to the area they are found, and turned loose. The trouble is, they are not checking as thoroughly as they should as to whether the cat is collared or chipped, and people’s pets are being trapped and fixed.

CONGRATULATIONS to FedEx for doing right by their employees, changing their policy effective June 1 to start new employees with three weeks vacation, rather than starting them with two weeks and making them wait five years for the third week. I hope other companies notice and consider following suit.

Last night someone asked me what an upcoming event is like, and I replied, “When you were little, did you ever watch TV with your grandparents?” They said yes, and I told them that the event “is kinda like The Lawrence Welk Show of drinking games.” This morning I woke up and thought to myself, I wonder if that show is on YouTube?
