Former Memphis Grizzly Tony Allen has signed to play in the Big 3 basketball tournament this summer. He’ll play on a team called 3’s Company that includes other well-known former NBA players such as Michael Beasley and Mario Chalmers.

The Lobbyist, Jimmy Gentry’s restaurant in the Chisca, is six months old. It’s already been through a menu change and has received additional seating on the patio.

Today is National Fried Chicken Day. Gus’s is the obvious choice to celebrate, of course, but I’d also recommend Jack Pirtle’s because it’s owned by awesome Downtowners. The closest Pirtle’s locations are near Thomas and Chelsea and near Poplar and Cleveland.
