Best random conversation I had last night at BBQ Fest: A woman told me that she and some friends were walking around in the area of Fourth and Beale when a homeless man approached. He asked for money and proudly told them, “I’m Downtown’s #1 homeless person.”
I know the Memphis Business Journal does their Top 40 Under 40 voting, but I must have missed the poll for #1 Homeless Person. Then again, I don’t subscribe to the print MBJ, I just read the online version, so it’s possible I missed it.
Hmmm…. last week a reader sent me info on how to do polls within a blog… one of these days maybe I should do a vote for #1 homeless person right here. After all, where would there be a more appropriate place to cast such a ballot?
And this may bias the proceedings if I ever do, but my vote would be for Scratchy.
