Hawaiian shirts on exhibit

Being a big fan of Hawaiian shirts, I can’t resist linking to Midtown Ryan’s blog post about the current exhibit at Memphis College of Art.  It’s called “Vintage Hawaiian:  The John McIntire Aloha Shirt Collection” and features 700 shirts McIntire has collected over the last 50 years.  The shirts are not only on display, they’re on sale.

Hmmm… maybe I’ll take the car to Midtown Crawfish Fest tomorrow and stop at MCA on the way there and take a look.  Al Gamble’s band is playing the crawfish fest, and I’ve been meaning to check them out because his wife is VP of Marketing at my company.  On the downside, if I drive my car, that means no beer.  But that’s OK I guess, because there will be beer aplenty to drink once I return Downtown.

Looking forward to hopefully buying a few new Hawaiian shirts to wear to work.  Heh… maybe one day MCA will have an exhibit called “Really Boring Red, Gray, and Black” and people who work at AutoZone will be able to purchase work clothes.
