MPD releases photo of Edge carjacking suspects and more (Tue update #2)

Memphis Police have released photos of two subjects wanted for carjacking in The Edge Sunday. Two men approached the victims at 667 Monroe as they sat in their car. They demanded the victims get out, and then sped off in the victims’ 2006 white Ford Mustang. A short time later they used the victim’s credit card at a nearby store.

Chef 4 A Day will present a luau party Saturday, August 27 from 3 to 7 in the afternoon at No. 2 Vance. Chef Shanon Arnold will serve up a taste of Hawaii. There will be Hawaiian cuisine along with hula dancers and island music. $25 tickets include two generous portions of appetizers, fruit/dessert, and an alcoholic beverage or non-alcoholic if preferred.

Quench is having another educational wine tasting Friday from 5 to 8. It will be a free sampling of an Italian Pinot Noir and a California Cab.

There will be a Drink, Dance, Donate party in the vault of Metro 67 Friday night. Money goes to St. Jude and a $10 minimum donation is requested. Dance the night away and enjoy Wiseacre beer. The St. Jude Marathon team “Allie’s Allies” is hosting the party.

The MBJ has an article about The Pub at the Brass Door which has its grand opening tomorrow. The Pub (in the former Mad Earl) space will appeal more to sports fans, with 14 TVs, while the Brass Door itself will focus more on upscale drinking and dining and will start opening for breakfast. Don’t forget that tomorrow is St. Practice Day.
