I cashed in the largest poker tournament ever this afternoon
I just cashed in what will likely be the largest poker tournament in history. At 1:45 PM CST on Pokerstars, over 149,000 people paid a dollar buy-in to play. Top 30,000 places paid off… near the bubble with about 34,000 remaining, I rivered a set of three 9s on a quadruple all-in and found myself with a huge stack of chips going into the money. I finished 5818th, earning myself a $5.50 payout for my $1 buy-in.
Not enough for a down payment on a condo or anything, but it was fun to play (and to cash) in a world record tournament.
