Fri update: Party on Patterson. Foodie Memphis/SOB, Folk Alliance

Back to work… yesterday made me long for the days when I was unemployed and could blog and tweet throughout the day. I guess it’s nice to have a paycheck though.

Somehow this flew completely under my radar until today… there will be a new monthly series of events, called Party on Patterson, that kicks off today. From 2 until sunset or later today, G.E. Patterson Avenue between Main and St. Martin. (Edit: Just learned I was wrong about the street being blocked off. It’s not.) There will be live bands, arts and crafts vendors, and specials at the businesses on G.E. Patterson. Party on Patterson will happen the second Friday of every month.

Foodie Memphis has a great blog post about South of Beale. Once a month, Foodie Memphis has a meetup at locally owned restaurants, and this month it was SOB.

The Commercial Appeal had an article about the Folk Alliance conference that will happen next week. The conference has been successful and has grown, and is reaching the limits of its space at the Marriott. Memphis is going to have to work to keep this convention, and I hope the fine folks at the CVB find a way to do it. Would be a shame to lose them.

Time to grab some Lenny’s then back to work… not sure what I’ll do tonight, may check out Party on Patterson, or may hang closer to home.
